MeasureColor announces Technology Partnership with Pantone LLC for integration with PantoneLIVE Digital Color Management System
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Colorware B.V./MeasureColor Inc. announce MeasureColor Software to tap into the PantoneLIVE ecosystem
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, September 6, 2013 – Colorware B.V. and their US subsidiary, MeasureColor Incorporated, have reached an agreement with X-Rite Incorporated and its wholly owned subsidiary Pantone LLC to integrate PantoneLIVE™ Color Libraries into their MeasureColor software.
“PantoneLIVE will help commercial and digital printers, ink companies, and flexible packaging printers accurately produce color from conception to production. MeasureColor software provides cost savings and creates a consistent means to communicate color throughout the supply chain”, says Dan Uress, CTO of MeasureColor.
Colorware B.V., based in Wassenaar, The Netherlands, as the developer and provider of MeasureColor , a network-based color measurement software, anticipates the software will interface with PantoneLIVE upon their upcoming release this winter.
"We see PantoneLIVE adding significant value in cases where our customers are looking to streamline their color measurement process," Uress said. "Colorware/MeasureColor provides a state of the art user interface connected to the PantoneLIVE spectral database.”
PantoneLIVE is the industry's largest collection of digital, cloud-based color data, representing the PANTONE® system of color designation used by printers worldwide and spot colors for a number of the world's best-known brand owners, such as Procter & Gamble Co. and H.J. Heinz Co. Brand owners and other approved members of the supply chain can manage digital access rights and facilitate color communication at every stage of workflow, from prepress and design to print shop floor. The strong communication links help minimize color revisions, reduce time to market, and ultimately lower development costs.
"We are very pleased to be working with Colorware/MeasureColor on providing the solution to its customers, many of whom use Pantone to define their brand colors," said Iain Pike, Market Director for PantoneLIVE. "Our new relationship with Colorware/ MeasureColor is another example of an important technology partner moving to our digitized library of packaging-relevant Pantone colors. The open architecture allows all of our partners the opportunity to add value and participate in the growing PantoneLIVE ecosystem."

PantoneLIVE is a cloud-based solution that enables the universal PANTONE Color language to be accurately communicated across the entire packaging workflow – from design concept to retail store shelves. PantoneLIVE extends the PANTONE PLUS SERIES Color Library, mapping critical color information to packaging-specific substrates. The PantoneLIVE ecosystem is supported by licensed hardware and software that enables each area of a packaging supply chain to access the same PantoneLIVE Colors, in addition to brand specific palettes. This results in consistent and repeatable color across product families, regardless of media or print technology, providing a cohesive brand approach.
While users of any manufacturer’s ink will be able to take advantage of PantoneLIVE, Sun Chemical is the preferred ink partner. Esko, a global supplier of integrated solutions for packaging, sign and display finishing, commercial printing and professional publishing, is also a preferred partner supporting PantoneLIVE. Both companies worked closely with Pantone and X-Rite to develop PantoneLIVE.
